There are now HUNDREDS of civilians on their rooftops surrounded by water. Many of them are women and older people.

The Russian military does not let people out of the flooded cities.

A couple more hours and Aleshki will completely go under water. But people are not allowed out, the roads have been closed.

Meanwhile in Kherson where evacuation is taking place by the Ukraine, Russian military is shelling the city.

We need everyone's help right now to protect the rainforest and Indigenous People

The Amazon Rainforest is under a massive threat. I know you've heard this a million times, but this is different. There is a piece of legislation that will decimate the rights of Indigenous people of Brazil, who have been protecting the rainforest. It's unfathomably bad. It has majority support. And they're voting tomorrow.

As reported he
re, the Bill allows "the Brazilian government to find energy resources, set up military bases, develop strategic roads, and implement commercial agriculture on protected Indigenous tribal lands, without any prior discussion with the affected peoples."

The thing you can do—and I know this sounds overly simple—is sign this petition—and tell your friends to do the same: SIGN HERE.

As reported here, the Bill allows "the Brazilian government to find energy resources, set up military bases, develop strategic roads, and implement commercial agriculture on protected Indigenous tribal lands, without any prior discussion with the affected peoples."

Again, this bill has majority support. You may be wondering, why will a petition signed by people who don't live in Brazil make any difference? Because it will give those opposing it political air cover. It will show the world is with them.

But we need a LOT of signatures.

Please do this simple act and spread the word.

Hey idk if you've seen this (if you're on Twitter etc) but my friend Frank who is wonderful and who you might know from such hits as The Mechanisms and The Magnus Archives and Being A Generally Cool Guy is having big problems with some dickheads in the council who have sprung a surprise eviction notice on them and their family. They're pretty substantially disabled and have been in a precarious situation for a long time now so there isn't any give in their finances to pay off the council and avoid eviction.

They've set up a gofundme to pay off the Surprise Council Debt and keep afloat (in addition to the money they apparently now owe their rent has been massively increased). If you've got a few quid spare and have enjoyed their work in the past (or just think people shouldn't be booted out of their home for being disabled in a cost of living crisis) it sounds like it would go a long way.

i had shared what is happening in sudan on a long facebook post last night, but it virtually received almost little to no engagement or shares from the nearly 600 “friends” i have on the site.

this morning, my great-aunt was shot by the soldiers fighting for power, and God forbid, i lose more of my family members before eid this friday.

please read below to understand what is happening and how you can help my country. i hope the tumblr community can show more kindness than the lack of support and advocacy i’ve seen elsewhere.
